DESCRIPTION
Introduction to financial analysis and business valuation techniques. Introduction to spreadsheet programming, using financial statements as a base for the further analysis used in the decision making. Topics include in depth analysis of the absolute values in the financial statements incl. notes, horizontal and vertical analysis, ratio analysis, Du Pont analysis, bankruptcy models, comparative financial analysis and also method used to value the business ? peer group analysis, transaction analysis and discounted free cash flow analysis.
At the end of the course students will acquire skills in basic methods used in assessment of the financial performance of businesses ? i.e. in financial analyses incl. corporate valuation. Students will be able to understand the financial statements of different companies, will be able to apply the chosen assessment techniques, ratio indicators and comprehensive methods of financial analysis. Student will also learn how to interpret various ratios and how to interpret results of financial analysis. The course will also teach the students, how to apply different techniques used in the business valuation. The techniques used employ conceptual thinking and detailed analysis in order to derive accurate information to be used in the decision-making process.
